A social worker is a trained professional dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities by addressing their social, emotional, and practical needs, and ensuring access to essential resources. Social workers typically hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and often have specialized training in areas such as child mental health, or rehabilitation. At Eden Child Development Centre, social workers are integral to the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, collaborating closely with therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals to create personalized care plans for each child. They provide emotional support to families, guide them through the complexities of diagnoses, and ensure seamless referrals to the appropriate therapy departments. Social workers also manage initial assessments, investigate incidents to prevent recurrence, and act as key workers, offering consistent support throughout the therapy journey. By fostering strong partnerships within the rehabilitation team and empowering families with the tools and information they need, social workers play a pivotal role in delivering holistic care and promoting the well-being of children at Eden.
