Speech Therapy

 Speech therapy is a specialized form of therapy that helps children with communication disorders to develop their speech, language, and communication skills. Our speech therapists work with children of all ages to address a variety of speech and language and feeding challenges.  A Speech Therapist, also known as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and communication disorders, as well as feeding and swallowing difficulties

Key Qualifications of a Speech Therapist

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology or a related field.

A master’s degree in speech-language pathology.

Certification and Licensing:

Certification by a professional body (Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)) & Indian Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA).

All speech language pathologist at Eden are registered with both ISHA and RCI, A valid license to practice in the country.

Specialized Training:

Expertise in handling specific conditions like stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, speech delay or feeding and swallowing issues.

Knowledge of assistive communication technologies and therapeutic interventions.

Most of our therapists are certified and trained in Oral Placement Therapy (OPT), PROMPT, GLP, Hanen and many other techniques

Working with children who have neurodevelopmental conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or ADHD.

We practice and integrate modern speech techniques like OPT, PROMPT, AAC (e.g., PECS, AWAZ etc) along with conventional approaches.

Addressing speech issues due to medical conditions like cleft palate, hearing loss, or traumatic brain injuries.

Collaborating with other specialists (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to provide a holistic developmental approach.

Working with children at risk for reading or writing difficulties.

Collaborating with audiologists to support children with hearing impairments.

Developing auditory processing and listening comprehension skills.
